President's Report Highlights 20 Years

[image 1]As we embark on another spring semester, be assured that the work you do everyday has a lifelong impact on students and creates opportunities for their success both in and outside the classroom. I was reminded of this as I read our latest President’s Report, which we publish annually as a resource to the community.

The publication is produced as a method of showing accountability to our donors, partners, media and other community members. While the President’s Report is limited to mentioning only a handful of NVC’s success stories, the individuals featured represent the dedication and collaboration of thousands of students, faculty, and community partners.

This year’s report showcases NVC’s 20 years of excellence in education. The testimony from alumni and donors reflect the significant role that NVC’s faculty and staff play in the success of students through teaching, providing academic and co-curricular support and funding scholarships.

For two decades, Northwest Vista College has positively changed the lives of thousands of students who are afforded opportunities to excel in a myriad of high quality academic and workforce programs. Last academic year, nearly 2,500 associate degrees and certificates were awarded. The vast majority of these graduates continue to reside in the San Antonio area and contribute greatly to the local economy through work and service.

I invite you to read the stories of NVC graduates, as well as donors, in hopes that their dedication and drive will inspire you as much as they have inspired me.

Thank you for all that you do in helping us foster our mission to create opportunities for success by offering quality academic, technical and lifelong learning experiences to our diverse communities in a collaborative, student-centered, data-informed and shared leadership environment.

Thank you to the collaborative efforts of the following NVC departments: Public Relations, Community Development, Research and Institutional Effectiveness, as well as the President’s Office for planning, designing, writing and publishing the 2015 President’s Report.
