Sign up for TeachTech Sept. 11

There’s still time to register for TeachTechFest2015—NVC’s own one-day teaching with technology conference.

We have an amazing lineup this year including guest speaker Alan November. Alan is an international leader teaching in education technology, a TEDTalk speaker, former oceanography instructor, and author. In fact, all attendees will receive a copy of Alan’s book “Who Owns the Learning?” in addition to a dynamic keynote presentation.

We are also happy to announce more than 40 concurrent sessions on topics including many of the tools used by faculty (Concourse, Canvas, webcams, clickers, and more) as well as timely pedagogy ideas—all presented by your faculty and staff peers. This year’s theme is “Dive in!”; your goal will be to conquer your “sharks”—technology that is intimidating, scary, or unknown. Here’s the skinny:

When: Friday, Sep. 11, 9:00AM – 4:15PM

Where: Start out by attending the Bragging Breakfast in CCC121 (Lago Vista Room) from 8:00 – 9:00AM. Check-in will then be held in the MLH lobby at 9:15AM with concurrent sessions starting at 9:30AM.

What: All attendees will receive a well-stocked goodie bag, Alan November’s book, helpful info, lunch and a really cool shark flash drive.

Who: All faculty, adjunct and full-time, in all disciplines are invited. You don’t have to be an online instructor or even a “techie” to have a great experience at this conference.

Our 115 attendees last year had nothing but praise for the event, and we think this year will be even better.
