March 27, 2014 | SharkAdmin So, what’s happening on May 14, 2014? Well, according to the lunar, it’s a full moon. That should make for a bright night. According to sports calendars, more specifically baseball calendars, the San Francisco Giants play the Atlanta Braves. Are there any Braves or Giants fans among us? By the way, how many of you are old enough or interested enough in baseball history to know that the Giants were originally known as the New York Giants and moved to San Francisco in 1958? The Braves have only been the Atlanta Braves since 1965. From 1953 through 1964, they were the Milwaukee Braves, having moved there from Boston. But I digress. The important event for Northwest Vista College on Wednesday, May 14, is our 2014 graduation ceremony. For the students who will walk across the stage at Freeman Coliseum, the ceremony represents an important milestone in their educational journey. I hope you will be able to be there to share that moment with the many who consider you their mentors. So put it on your calendar. Plan to come celebrate with those you have mentored and supported. After all, a full moon and a baseball game pale in comparison to the graduation of hundreds of Northwest Vista students. You can watch the full moon as you walk in, and you can record the ball game.
