May 27, 2014 | SharkAdmin Northwest Vista employees came together on Memorial Day, May 26 to honor the fallen heroes that were celebrated nationwide. To commemorate the day, NVC Student Life put up a wreath of flowers and decorated a wall in Cypress near the cafeteria with paper so employees and students can write messages honoring fallen soldiers. On the morning of Memorial Day, Angelica Esparza of NVC Staff Council read a poem and played “Taps,” a military song typically played at funerals and when flags are half staff. While the music played, others took a moment of silence. Throughout the week, the wall will be up so messages can be written on it!
