She discussed a range of topics including Texas law pertaining to what happens when someone dies without a will, how a will can function, probate, heirship proceedings, financial and medical power of attorney and much more in the session entitled, “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way”. She provided information on what's included in a will, as well as how to leave money to Northwest Vista College programs or scholarships. When asked about the cost of having an attorney prepare a will, McLaughlin explained that will packages at her firm range from $500 for the most basic estate to $2,400 for more complex estates.
