Parent/Child Scholarship Opportunity

A scholarship providing funds for a parent as well as a scholarship for a child age six and under? Sounds too good to be true, right? It really is true, thanks to the Tom Morton Sandoval Rey Feo LULAC Parent/Child Scholarship.

This unique opportunity allows a parent to secure two years of tuition and fees for their child to attend one of the Alamo Colleges upon high school graduation if the parent completes an academic goal within the Alamo Colleges. The child must be age six or younger at the time of application. For the parent, the scholarship will provide $250 per semester for four consecutive semesters (fall and spring only) if enrolled at one of the Alamo Colleges.

Deadline to apply is Monday, May 4. Applications include a form, required essay, letter of recommendation and release form and may be submitted by email, mail or in person.

“This year, we are awarding 25 scholarships,” says Bertha Castellanos at the San Antonio College Empowerment Center which administers the program.
