March 24, 2016 | SharkAdmin From Northwest Vista College President Dr. Ric Baser: On behalf of the Vice President of Academic Success search team, I have the distinct privilege to announce that Dr. Amy Whitworth has accepted the position of the vice president for Academic Success. She has served in this role on an interim basis while at the same time fulfilling her responsibilities as the dean of Arts and Sciences, where she has been working with our chairs, faculty and district colleagues. Dr. Whitworth’s successful track record with Alamo Colleges for the past 20 years as a faculty member, administrator, dean, chair and program coordinator makes her an ideal candidate for this position. Her commitment to student success and shared leadership was recognized through the feedback we received regarding this position. In addition, Dr. Whitworth is the recipient of two National Endowment of Humanities Awards. Dr. Whitworth earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin; and a masters degree and Ph.D from from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
