June 16, 2016 | SharkAdmin “My associate’s degree gave me the confidence and head start to complete my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.” Virginia Leggett graduated from Northwest Vista College in 2000. She has gone on to successfully earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Professionally, she has also grown together with NVC, where she has worked since 1999. Virginia credits Northwest Vista for providing her opportunities to get involved, which she says she did not have in high school. She encourages current students to, “make and take opportunities to get involved both inside and outside the classroom,” she says. When Virginia joined the campus, it was just a few years old and had just a handful of buildings. Now, its enrollment hovers at 16,000 students and it has 11 buildings. “Being a part of helping to grow a new campus with such a strong culture turned me into a critical thinker,” she adds. “I learned the value of collaborating to make things work better rather than sitting quietly in the back or leaving when things didn’t go well.” Favorite Vista Value: Synergy
