February 8, 2013 | SharkAdmin The Langston Hughes Project is a multimedia concert of Langston Hughes’ poetic work involving spoken word, jazz musicians and videography. The jazz performance is paired to Hughes’ epic poem about artistic and social freedom. Hughes is best known for his work during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and is a leading African American literary figure. The free performance is on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Palmetto Theatre. Professional musicians will also give two free workshops for all interested students in the Palmetto Rehearsal Hall 152 at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. This is a part of NVC’s Student Activities' diversity series.
