March 21, 2013 | SharkAdmin The month of April promises hot weather, spring flowers and…Klingon poetry? That’s right! With April comes Northwest Vista’s first ever GeekWeek, a celebration that encourages us to embrace our inner geek. During April 8-11, NVC will host activities ranging from sci-fi poetry to arcade game history. So how can you become involved with GeekWeek Activities? You can help spread the word to students and encourage them to attend events. You can also create your own extra credit assignments that tie in to certain events. For example, celebrate National Poetry Month by asking your students to create Sci-Fi/Fantasy Poetry. If you want even more involvement with GeekWeek activities, you can also volunteer on the GeekWeek Committee to help with an event or hold a discussion/demonstration for students. Any questions or comments can be sent to Amanda Gorrell at [email protected].
