Celebrating Administrative Professional Day

“Thank you.” Such simple, powerful words.

The NVC community marked Administrative Professional Day on April 24 with a variety of activities to say “thank you” to the administrative assistants on campus. In addition to the individual ways in which supervisors and co-workers showed their gratitude, the newly formed Administrative Professional Team coordinated by Org Learning put some interesting twists on the day.

The Team was divided into groups of four. Each group was given the assignment to recognize another group of four members with tokens of appreciation the week of Administrative Professional Day. Doing it “Secret Santa” style meant that anonymous cards and simple gifts were being delivered all across campus. Among the reactions: “It made me feel special.” “I like the idea of working with others and doing something nice for someone else.” “I was overjoyed with happiness for everything I received.” “The thought of being able to send and receive appreciation warms my heart.” To see more pictures, go here: [file 1]

The Administrative Professional Team is dedicated to continuous professional development and sharing of best practices. The activities of April 24 underscored their additional objectives of recognition, appreciation, and the strengthening of communication and relationships. “Thank you!”
