May 3, 2013 | SharkAdmin Nobel Laureate, Alex Filippenko, spoke in the Palmetto Performance Hall on April 16, to a standing room-only audience. The title of his presentation was “Nobel Worthy: The Accelerating Expansion of the Universe.” What a great opportunity for our students as well as faculty and staff members to engage with and learn from a renowned Professor of Astronomy. Thanks to the efforts of Roopa Prasad, other science faculty members and student activities staff for making this event possible. Dr. Filippenko is not only a renowned Nobel Prize winning astronomer.
