Celebration of Giving Breakfast Honors Donors

[image 1]NVC held its first Celebration of Giving to recognize and thank donors to the 2012 Alamo Colleges Employees Giving Back Campaign.

Donors who contributed a record $57,944.12 heard from NVC scholarship recipients, theFund and United Way about the impact of their gifts and pledges.

Sharman Castillo and Paul Gonzalez, the first two recipients of the Jack Stone Endowed Music Scholarship, shared their stories and appreciation for the scholarship with NVC President Jackie Claunch.

[image 2]Donors also heard from Rod Rubbo, president and CEO of theFund; and Ilsa Garcia, volunteer manager for Communities in Schools, one of the United Way agencies supported by NVC donors, how their contributions made a difference for the individuals and families they serve.

Participants also viewed video messages from three additional NVC scholarship recipients who also expressed their gratitude for employee donations and the scholarships.

This year’s Campaign Co-Chairs Sally First and Jim Lievens moderated the event, which was hosted by the Community Development department.
