Faculty Resources

Instructional Development and Distance Learning staff recently developed a new collection of resources in Canvas, the Alamo Colleges learning management system. “Faculty Resources” is a repository that contains more than 60 pages, each with a straightforward purpose, instructions, screen shots, links, or samples.

It is available to all faculty at any time, without logging in. Pages have user-friendly titles. The collection was developed based upon the topics most requested by faculty for assistance over the past few years. Sections include:

  • Checklists for beginning, middle, and end of the semester
  • An ACES How-To guide
  • Tips & Tricks related to technology
  • Resources for Faculty
  • Resources for Students
  • Creating Canvas pages to promote active learning
  • Samples that can be used as templates

To access Faculty Resources, simply hover over either Academics or Faculty & Staff on the NVC homepage; you will see the link in the white drop-down menu. If you bookmark the site, it will be even easier to locate. So far, feedback has been extremely positive.
