January 23, 2016 | SharkAdmin The Alamo Colleges Foundation is providing $10,000 to Northwest Vista College in 2016 for a Faculty/Staff Innovation Grants pilot program. The Faculty/Staff Innovation Grant Program encourages faculty and staff to provide new and innovative approaches to instruction and/or student co-curricular support which positively impacts student learning, persistence and/or completion. The F/SIG program will fund projects which support the strategic priorities and goals in the college strategic plan and/or Alamo Colleges strategic priorities. Applications will be due Feb. 12 and selections made by March 1. While implementation of the grant-funded projects are intended to begin in summer or fall, they could begin as early as April. Please use the attached application. Applications should be submitted to: Dr. Ric Baser, President at [email protected] or in the President’s Office – Manzanillo Hall. Questions can be directed to the President’s Office at 486-4900 or [email protected]. A Northwest Vista College committee will be responsible for screening and selection, and for determining grant amounts awarded. During the first year, proposals of up to $2,500 will be given priority consideration. By the end of the Fall 2016 semester, F/SIG grant recipients will be required to provide a written status report of their grant-funded project. In addition, a comprehensive final report will be submitted to the College President no later than the end of the Spring 2017 semester. Foundation representatives and the College President will meet to evaluate results of the first year as the basis for continuing and funding the pilot program for a second year. It is hoped that a successful pilot program will give the Foundation a solid basis to move forward requesting funding from external sources to sustain the initiative.
