October 2, 2015 | SharkAdmin The deadline to apply for up to two $500 scholarships provided by the Northwest Vista College Psychology department is Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m. Recipients of the scholarship awards will be announced during the Ninth Annual Psychology Day on Tuesday, Oct. 27. To be eligible for the scholarships, students must meet the following criteria: Attend NVC and major in Psychology at NVC. Complete a minimum of 15 earned credit hours, but no more than 45 earned credit hours, toward a Psychology associate of arts degree at the time of application for this award. Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. May be full time (12 or more credit hours) or part-time (as few as three allowable). Write an essay addressing their aspirations in the psychology field and how these aspirations will benefit humankind. The essay should also describe the applicant’s plan to achieve his/her aspirations and should be no more than 1500 words in length. Applicants should deliver a hard copy of the essay and a cover letter (with relevant contact information) stating interest in being considered for the award to the office of Dr. Don Lucas, Live Oak Hall, 306L, by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
