October 5, 2012 | SharkAdmin Northwest Vista College has simplified a way for students, employees and community members to provide feedback through a revised online form at Alamo.edu/nvc/Feedback. The form allows for anonymous submissions and takes just seconds to fill out. Users can submit complaints, concerns, compliments and suggestions. Recently, a process improvement team led by Virginia Leggett identified ways to help advertise the online form. A low number of submissions to the feedback system indicated the need to increase awareness that the form exists. The team found that with turnover of students and employees, many may not be aware they can give feedback or fill out the form themselves on behalf of students. Individuals can also send questions or forward items directly by e-mailing [email protected]. “We are hoping to increase awareness of the web-based feedback system because it serves as a listening mechanism for complaints and suggestions that may otherwise go unheard and untracked,” said Virginia, also the NVC Budget Officer. “Within the next month, we expect to have increased presence on NVC’s website, Facebook page and digital signs. We’ll also be placing removable stickers in key areas around campus and providing business cards to high-traffic offices to remind students how to give feedback.” The previous feedback name – HUGS or Help Us Grow Stronger – was retired in order to use a name more identifiable with students and the community. Currently the new name is just “Feedback.” Kristin Johnson, recently hired to work jointly in the library and Institutional Research, is now receiving and managing the incoming complaints and other submittals. Kristin has already come up with some improvement ideas for the feedback system while serving in this role. Feel free to send your questions or suggestions about the Feedback system to the online form where Kristin will receive your comments: http://www.alamo.edu/nvc/feedback/
