June 16, 2016 | SharkAdmin “When you walk that stage, you will feel the happiness and the great accomplishment that you have fulfilled.” Ronald Rodriguez graduated from Northwest Vista College with an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science in 2010. Along with his own accomplishments, both Ronald’s wife and son have also earned their degrees from NVC. Ronald is currently employed with Northside Independent School District and on the path to furthering his goals to work in education. He is currently student teaching and set to complete a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M San Antonio in EC-6 Education. Ronald and his family say what they remember most about NVC were the teachers. “They all put their heart and soul in what they were teaching, and each one of them had the time to meet with anybody that needed help with the class or with anything else.” Ronald encourages students to keep striving for better things. He says that his degrees from NVC, along with support from his family, have helped motivate him to continue his education. “When you find your calling, do not seek happiness, but rather, decide to work with passion and purpose and happiness will find its way to you,” he said. His favorite Vista Value is Creativity because it promotes thinking outside the box. “Don’t get comfortable in doing things in a certain way,” he said. “We can grow by taking chances and risks. Always try to learn more than what is given to you, and be open to new and wonderful ideas.” Ronald and his wife Hilda will both be graduating from Texas A&M San Antonio in 2013. Their son Joseph, also alum at Northwest Vista, graduated in 2010 with an associate’s degree in Business. He has since gone on to complete a double major from UTSA in Business Administration and Accounting and Finance.
