August 31, 2012 | SharkAdmin NVC's Workforce Education programs were recently highlighted on several KENS-TV newscasts as the August feature of a year-long Cadillac-sponsored campaign saluting the “Spirit of Innovation.” This year the theme was technology and NVC's Workforce programs were a natural fit for the series. Earlier in the year, Cadillac highlighted the Culinary Institute of America and RackSpace, among others. NVC's employer-centered, high-tech workforce preparation was the focus of the spot, airing on KENS newscasts both Aug. 20 and 21. The message was that NVC provides the education for San Antonians wanting to get the hands-on training in the rapidly-growing high-tech sector. Pat Fontenot, dean of Workforce Education & Training, was the spokesperson, emphasizing the variety of cutting-edge training available at NVC, including Digital Video & Cinema Production (DVCP), 3-D Animation, Nanotechnology, Cisco Certification and more. The NVC spots were videotaped by KENS' Robert Sico, a producer/editor/director, with production assistance by Ron Wojnar and Alan Garner of the DVCP program at NVC, as well as John Viruzo, a Digital Media student. It also featured high- definition video from an earlier NVC production by student Virgilio Deonon. KENS' Jana Willborn was the executive producer. Contributed by Barbara Hendricks, Faculty
