Your Gifts Reshape Futures

Susan Wilkinson, Liberal Arts major
Alamo Colleges – Northwest Vista College

After 10 years of a career in massage therapy, Susan wanted to change to a career that offered a more regular schedule, health and retirement benefits, and employment that could be sustained for years to come.

“I believe we learn the most when we are young, impressionable and ready to explore. I want to pursue my passion to teach basic life skills, to many people at an early state in their lives,” Susan said about why she chose to begin with studying elementary education at Northwest Vista College, which led to her desire for an all-around Liberal Arts associate degree.

Susan said the Alamo Colleges Foundation scholarship is keeping her motivated and allowing her to be a full-time student. “I chose Alamo Colleges – Northwest Vista College based on my exceptional previous experience — the positive influences and costs are hard to beat!” She has maintained an A average through each semester, and plans to graduate from NVC and then attend Texas A&M University-San Antonio to complete a bachelor’s degree in business.

Susan’s experience would not be possible without donors like you whose gifts support the dreams of Susan and over 60,000 other students at the five Alamo Colleges. By wisely investing in reshaping futures one remarkable woman or man at a time, you’re also reshaping the future of our community. On behalf of our students, Alamo Colleges Foundation thanks you for your life-changing gifts of time, talent and treasure!
